My Story
Let's start back a few years ago, I was broke & laid off, I had decided I didn't want to work for anyone else again. I attended a purse party, I found myself helping others shop, a few days later I thought about what I wanted to do, I enjoyed people, sales & fashion, but had $30 to my name, a dream and no way to make it happen. A friend offered to lend us the money to get started, I did my first launch party and sold exactly $0. I was super bummed, I went to bed, woke the next day and thought had I failed a test, I wouldn't quit, I would try harder, so that's exactly what I did, without a car I went & handed out flyers to every church, retirement home, school and legion asking about vendor events. I started marketing online, I had a goal to fill my calendar for the fall season and that's exactly what I did! It became my full time job & I loved it!! I met a lady who had a cash for gold business and we decided to link up for parties and even eventually had a store. I was able to buy us a truck and put a down payment on a home, Years had past & parties became hard on me, having Fibro, stomach and back issues. I wanted to be home more with my children, being self employed for myself I started Scentsy, now this was a lot different, I had a business, I was able to make my own hours, work for myself & travel when I wanted, Never did I expect within my first year I would earn a trip to Greece and be within the TOP 100 trip earners, hit every target within the first few months and obtain Director status by 7 months, I went on to earn Annual Sales and Annual Mentor 2 years in a row, a trip to Cancun, a 7 day cruise, travel to NY, Boise Idaho to visit home office. I can't believe from the power of 1 to now over 4000+ consultants worldwide, all because I decided to drop my fears & being skeptical & took a chance. With social media sites like facebook this is possible, I am able to be home full time with my family now, helping my team have confidence, live positively, make sales & market right from their couches. Many do parties and events also but that choice is up to them. Being able to bless others now after years of struggling myself has to be the ultimate pay off in all of this. I had my first UK consultant sign up on my 2 year scentsiversary and within a few months she wrote me that I had saved her life, that Scentsy had changed her life, she thanked me over and over. She didn't realize but at that very moment my WHY shifted from not only my children but to all these lives I'm changing. My why became so much more.
